WATER. It covers nearly three quarters of our earth's surface, is home to millions of different species of animals and, as Canadians, is arguably one of our most precious resources. With our rapidly diminishing supply of freshwater, water is becoming what gold once was, the most valuable substance on earth. What are we doing to this precious resource? Polluting it. All across Canada, but particularly in Nova Scotia, water pollution is an issue that, if left untreated, can be devastating to future generations. I would like to travel to Nova Scotia to see first-hand the water pollution and steps that can be and are being taken to reduce the pollution in our waters. Our generation must know about the effects of water pollution on our environment, wildlife and even our climate. If our generation continues to pollute Canada's water and does not undo the actions of previous generations, our water supply will be greatly diminished, we will be without thousands of species of animals and have many other environmental issues. Our generation needs to be informed about the damage being done to our environment by polluting the waters of our great country.
