Les jeunes oubliés…

J'ai ecris cet article pour le journal canadien "L'express etudiant". C'etait nominee pour un prix au Gala de l'express. Je trouve que et sujet est tres important et je le tient tres proche au coeur.

Break the Silence Contest Now Offered to All Youth Under 25

Great news! The Directors of Change Break the Silence Contest is now being offered to youth under the age of fourteen as well. In response to interest from youth across Canada, we are expanding the contest to include all those under 25 who have a message to share about the state of children’s rights around the world. All you have to do if you are under 14 is have your parent or legal guardian fill in this form and fax it back to Free The Children. Once this is done, enter to win! Those who are fourteen or over do not have to complete the form to enter. Good luck!

CHANGE: The Beginning

Everybody in the world has something negative to say about the world. Honestly, the world is a beautiful place. Gorgeous landforms, plants, and animals of all kinds. Cycles to endure life and to make life another natural process.

With the world itself being perfect, there is something that makes the world the worst place to live - PEOPLE.

People, humans, homo sapiens.. whatever you choose to call them, is what makes life on earth (safe to say) suck.

They destroy the earth and they destroy each other. They're selfish, rude, arrogant and *nasty* considering we as humans produce the most waste than any other animal. read more »

FTC Visit

Today I had the opportunity of visiting the Free the Children head office in Toronto. I visited with my school's Halloween for Hunger executive team. We got a tour of the buildings and actually got to talk to a number of the employees to find out about the organization and how it works. Among the people we were fortunate enough to spend time with was Craig and Marc Kielburger, Michel and Spencer (motivational speakers) and many more. We volunteered aroudn the office wherever they needed us. read more »

The Youngest Headmaster in the World

Around the world millions of children are not getting a proper education because their families are too poor to afford to send them to school. In India, one schoolboy is trying to change that. In the first report in the BBC's Hunger to Learn series, Damian Grammaticas meets Babar Ali, whose remarkable education project is transforming the lives of hundreds of poor children.

At 16 years old, Babar Ali must be the youngest headmaster in the world. He's a teenager who is in charge of teaching hundreds of students in his family's backyard, where he runs classes for poor children from his village. read more »
